Presently, the ship recycling is our leading business. We are having Three plots out of these three, two were merged of two small plots and one is VLCC plots. There are three group companies which are actively engaged in ship recycling at Alang-Sosiya Ship Recycling Yard, Bhavnagar.

With the largest total plots area holder and experience of more than 15 years, our group has become the legend in this industry.

Mahavir group's ship recycling companies has experienced the ups & downs of this Industry commencing from the initial development period, then golden period and immediate collapse of the market with worldwide recession. Now, the industry is sitting up from the recent recession. It is showing some booming scenario.
Even in such a recessionary period, our companies shown excellent performance achieving the turnover of 1.5 Billion with handsome profit margin.

Mahavir Group has three plots at Sosiya-Alang Ship Recycling Yard, Bhavnagar and one of these three, one is VLCC having size of 120 Sq. Mt. X 50 Sq. Mt. = 6000 Sq. mts. Also, the remaining two plots are merged one of the two small plots making the size of each plot 60 Sq. Mt. X 45 Sq. Mt. = 2700 Sq. Mt. X 2 = 5400 Sq. mt. So, we are having around 11400 Sq. mt. area at Ship Recycling Yard.

Three group companies are involved in ship recycling activities :

• Mahavir Inductomelt Pvt. Ltd. : A closely held private limited having been allotted a VLCC Plot No. V-5 at Sosiya Ship Recycling Yard, Bhavnagar. The company has commence its ship recycling activities in the year 1994-95.
• G.K. Steel ( A SBU of Puneet Industries Pvt. Ltd) : A proprietary unit of PIPL having been allotted a Plot No. 120 at Sosiya Ship Recycling yard, Bhavnagar. Erstwhile proprietary firm had commenced its ship recycling activities in the year 1995-96. Thereafter, in the year 2004, the proprietary business is taken over by the Puneet Industries Pvt. Ltd.
• M.K. Shipping & Allied Industries Pvt. Ltd. : A closely held private limited company having been allotted a Plot no. 121 at Sosiya Ship Recycling Yard, Bhavnagar. It commences its work in the year 2007.

We are having highly efficient team members with vast experience , fully equipped Plot armed with all types of infrastructure facilities like water, modern and art of work equipments & tools like gas cutters, cylinder carriers, Portocayo (Liquid Oxygen Gas Tank) for smooth and safe operation at our yards. Also, manpower are highly trained for skilled work like Gas Cutting Works. Our plots are equipped with requisite number of cranes for loading & unloading and winches.

Last but not least, the due care of environment are taken by the management during the cutting process and for this purpose, the isolated storage facilities has been erected at our yards for hazardous materials and wastages. Mahavir group is strictly following the norms for ASBESTOS Handling and having asbestos handing room with complete accessories.

The group's ship recycling companies are involved in the recycle of ships of various types such as Tanker, Container, RO RO, Passenger, Tug/Barge, etc. The ships are dismantled following the ship dismantling plan prepared by experts taking into consideration the ship type and design.

By dismantling the vessel, the following products are getting during the process :

1. Old and Used Plate made of Iron
2. MS Scrap
3. Non Ferrous items like Nickel, Copper, Bronze, Aluminium, etc.
4. Machinery such as Generators, Cranes and Winches
5. Wire Ropes, etc.
6. Furniture & other woods.
